Remembering Salman Javed

July 28, 2020
“Salman was a one of a kind guy. We have been partners and friends for close to 20 years and he helped build CDS and Vision-e into what it is today. I could not have picked a better friend and partner. He showed tremendous strength and dignity throughout this whole process. I hope all of you will take a minute to look up in the sky and think about Sal today. He will be greatly missed...”
– John Hand, Chairman

Born in New Delhi, India, Salman had the early opportunity to see a lot of the world as his father worked for an airline. His journey, from his first job of handing out flyers for $2 an hour to graduating from the Fashion Institute of America, fostered in him a deep motivation for positive change. Among many of the charities he worked with, he helped build homes for families in his native India and supported causes for children’s education and development everywhere.

Salman never stopped exploring and challenging himself. He overcame great adversity in building a business in New York and New Jersey after 9-11, and pushed the limits to expand that business to cover the entire Northeast.

Salman was diagnosed with advanced stage Pancreatic Cancer in the fall of 2016.  Despite a valiant fight, the disease had already been too far developed to over-come. Ever the tenacious fighter, he was able to return home to India to spend time with friends and family before he passed.

Salman touched the lives of countless friends, employees, partners, and customers, and will be missed dearly.
